John Galsworthy war ein englischer Schriftsteller und Dramatiker. Seine Romanreihe The Forsyte Saga gilt als ein Klassiker der modernen englischen Literatur. 1932 erhielt Galsworthy den Literaturnobelpreis.
Bury House, The Street Built in 1910 in a Jacobean style the buildings most notable resident was John Galsworthy who resided here between 1926 and his death in 1933. He completed The Forsyte Saga whilst living here. The house later became a residential home for the elderly originally run by West Sussex County Council, then privately. Since 2005 the house been restored and is currently divided into top of the range flats based on the original layout of the house.

The Majestic Hotel In Derby Road, built on the site of Saugeen Preparatory School. The schools most notable pupil was probably John Galsworthy John_Galsworthy, best known as author of the Forsythe Chronicles.
