John Davison Rockefeller Sr., geboren am 8. Juli 1839 in Richford, New York, USA, und verstorben am 23. Mai 1937 in Ormond Beach, Florida, USA war ein US-amerikanischer Unternehmer, erster Milliardär der Weltgeschichte (im Jahr 1916, in US-Dollar gerechnet) und gilt als der reichste Mensch der Neuzeit.
Rockefeller war Mitbegründer einer Erdölraffinerie, aus der 1870 die Standard Oil Company hervorging. Sein engster Freund und Geschäftspartner war Henry Morrison Flagler.
