Norma Shearer, silent film actress. From the back: Norma Shearer, screen beauty is the discoverer of a new secret. It is the ordinary, homely starch used in laundering, To keep the skin in good condition, says Miss Shearer, take a double handful of ordinary starch and allow it to dissolve in the water just as you would bath salts. Follow this with a cold shower and you will find it will do wonders for the skin. This bath should be indulged in every four days, no oftener. Starch is also excellent for reducing. For this purpose, however, the water must be very much warmer than the ordinary temperature for bathing. Have the tub as hot as you can possibly stand it and remain in it for twenty minutes. Follow with a warm shower. Subjects (LCTGM): actresses
